聖路易Fed銀行總裁James Bullard周五說，經濟數據在兩個方向拉著聯準會(Fed)。

較佳的經濟表現，尤其失業率方面，顯示貨幣政策應更積極，但低於預期的通貨膨脹，及下降的通貨膨脹預期，則顯示政策不應積極。

「現代央行的一項重要原則，應是央行必須在通貨膨脹目標上，保護其信譽，」Bullard說。

他並指出FOMC預測上的一個問題，即他們僅假設貨幣政策是適當的。

「其實，市場人士是使用非常不同的政策假設，」Bullard說。

Bullard將於2016年成為FOMC具有投票權的委員。
