Coretronic expects its backlight unit (BLU) shipments in the first quarter of 2015 to decrease by about 15% sequentially due to off-season effects and fewer working days arising from 2015 Lunar New Year holidays in late February, the company has indicated.

In terms of applications, TVs accounted for 6% of fourth-quarter 2014 shipments, monitors 25%, notebooks 33% and tablets 32%.
Coretronic also shipped 283,000 DLP projectors in fourth-quarter 2014, falling 13% sequentially, the company indicated. It shipped 1.163 million DLP projectors in 2014, up 15% on year.
