蘋果公司說，由於iPhone 6第一日預訂，即達400萬支，不但創新高，更為二年前iPhone 5第一日預訂數量的二倍，許多客戶需要等到下個月，才能拿到新型iPhone。

該公司說，新iPhones 6與iPhones 6 plus--擁有較大的螢幕與較久的電池續航力--的需求超過供給。訂單將於周五開始交貨，將持續至10月底。

分析師估計，蓬勃的第一日預訂數量，顯示第一個周末銷售量將達1000萬支。

「假設預訂數量類似iPhone 5，達第一個周末銷售量的40%，這將顯示iPhone 6/6Plus第一個周末銷售量可能達1000萬支，」富國銀行分析師在報告中寫道。

iPhone 5於2012年9月開始銷售後，前24小時接獲訂單約為200萬支，第一個周末，銷售量為500萬支。
