科學家近日發現一座千年佛像內竟端坐著一位打坐和尚，其內臟已被掏空。據悉，該佛像的歷史可以追溯到11至12世紀，距今已有近1000年。對其做完CT掃描及內鏡檢查後，科學家們發現這具和尚木乃伊的內臟已被掏空。隨後，該佛像被護送至匈牙利自然博物館，展出至2015年5月。

環球網據英國《每日郵報》報導，據專家推測，該具木乃伊極有可能是耶律大石的老師，其真實身份還在調查中。

耶律大石，遼太祖耶律阿保機八代孫，幼年時既接受契丹族傳統騎射訓練，又得到漢族文化教育。西元1125年，遼朝在宋、金的夾擊下滅亡，耶律大石率眾西奔。1132年，耶律大石在葉密立（今新疆額敏）稱帝，年號延慶，史稱西遼。耶律大石稱帝以後，10年間東征西討，向四方拓展，先後歸並了高昌回鶻王國、東部喀喇汗王朝、西部喀喇汗王朝等國家，建成一個疆域遼闊的帝國。1143年，耶律大石病逝，廟號德宗。
